There have been a bevy of book releases the past year and with many tears shed, I took it upon myself to share the joy of reading these masterpieces with the world. Indeed, the first six months of this year has been dominated with young adult novels. However, this list will contain a compilation of all bestselling categories this year, including fiction and non fiction as well.

It is no surprise that John Green has reigned this year with his bestseller “The Fault InOur Stars” along with Veronica Roth with her bestseller the “Divergent” series. Both “The Fault InOur Stars” as well as the first book of the Divergent series have been adapted into much anticipated films. The second book of the Divergent series, Insurgent, is also on the works of being adapted into a film, which will no doubt pull at our heart strings. It was also announced that John Green’s book Looking For Alaska will also be adapted for the big screen.

If I stay by Gayle Forman, the tearjerker that left our hearts in pieces, has also been adapted into a film which is even more heart breaking than the book itself. Gone Girl, the book by Gillian Flynn which left us in a daze with unanswered questions and George R. R. Martin’s perfectly executed series, Song of Fire and Ice, which can seem to take us on a journey to a land of kings, dragons and monsters just through words, have all graced the top lists this year.
